This 13 - issue series is the quaternary installment in the publisher ’s Mirror series following Mirror Broken , Through a Mirror , and Terra Incognita , all of which star the malign , bearded Jean - Luc Picard on the Imperial Star Ship Enterprise on its mission “ to capture strange unexampled worlds , to enslave newfangled lifetime and new civilization … To boldly go where no one has start before ! ” In Mirror Broken , Picardfirst seizes the combat ship Enterprise , while the latter two have the evilNext Generationcrew come to the regular Star Trek population .
The Mirror War takes the action back to the Mirror Universe , where malign Picard has a chance to terminate the Terran Empire ’s war with the Klingon - Cardassian Alliance … and possibly more . In the press release , co - author David Tipton enunciate , “ In The Mirror War , we ’ll be seeing what happens when Picard induce hold of selective information that can change the portion of the debilitated Terran Empire .
