The Markovians are very much in Freeland , and the ASA plans on eliminating them by any means necessary , let in bringing masses like Khalil back from the dead to rick them into superpowerd soldiers . But Khalil is n’t truly himself after the ASA resurrects him — his Painkiller persona is the only affair the means leaves intact in his intellect , and to test out whether the procedure has truly done its job , Khalil ’s first assigning is to try out and murder his still - grieving mother .

In exchange for his new suit , Jefferson ends up agreeing to go on a missionary work for the ASA to take on the Markovians , and his successfully completion of say mission leads to his lastly being released from the detainment facility . But his homecoming is a bittersweet one because even though he ’s back , his sept is … tied up in the complication of their own life . Freeland is still the Pierce family ’s household , but it ’s also a property in a state of flux where no one is really as safe as they ’ve win over themselves they are . What ’s more , the Markovians have yet to really launch their full - plate attack on the metropolis , meaning that things are only sealed to become more intense and unsafe for the masses of Freeland .
