There is literally nothing that has made me more impressed about Guillermo del Toro ’s Pacific Rim — and it ’s has some mighty impressive trailers — than this featurette revealing the monolithic , unbelievable , almost zero - CG sets used as the Jaeger ’s cockpits .
Seriously , they ’re almost as harebrained as if del Toro has just pop off beforehand and built gargantuan golem .
Personally , I ’m not the biggest sports fan of del Toro ’s body of work , but if there ’s one thing I ’ll always respect him for , it ’s for his refusal to utilize CG except to augment virtual particular effects , or when utterly necessary . As this featurette reveals , Pacific Rim definitely takes this mantra to the extreme , and I have zero doubtfulness that the picture show will be infinitely beneficial for it .
