wrench out theRedfly , that netbook - attend twist that extends a smartphone to its 8.9 - inch exhibit , is doing all right . So all right that the company roll out reenforcement for BlackBerry . I still would rather get a netbook .
The $ 250 Redfly hardware is the same — it has a 8.9 - inch screen , a pretty cramp keyboard compared to the 10 - inch netbooks of today and a decent sized touchpad . I accept issue with the touchpad , however . When it is pair with a Windows Mobile phone it work as a shiner , but with the BlackBerry it works as a four manner directional pad of sorts . It is opine to mimic the rollerball on the Berry , but it does n’t really .
Navigating the BlackBerry oxygen was a fleck sluggish . It take at least two to three second to shift windowpane or tasks ( though apparently the drivers are n’t terminal ) . The lag is killer when play BrickBreaker . If I ’m going to stock around a notebook looking twist in my bag , I ’d much rather a $ 300 netbook with browse and carrying into action . But the Redfly is n’t popular with people like me . It is primarily an enterprise solvent for companies that would rather deploy smartphones than laptop computer . In that corner sheath , I assume this BlackBerry result will be welcomed with open arm .
I am not going to rest . I ’m entirely surprised that this company is still kicking with the onslaught of netbooks that be just a shade bit more ( though you’re able to feel good netbooks on sale now for $ 250 ) . But Redfly is still buzzing ; the devices will be available at a brick and mortar retailer very soon and Android reinforcement will arrive by the ending of the year . [ Celio Redfly ]
