AlthoughDonald Trumpis teasing acabinet seatfor Ivanka Trump, the 34-year-old is satisfied with the part she already plays in her father’s campaign.
“My role is daughter,” Trump tellsHarper’s Bazaarin the magazine’s September issue. “I’m his daughter.”
AlthoughIvanka Trumphas beenactively involvedin her father’s Republican Presidential campaign, the businesswoman and mom of three insists speculation that she calls the shots are inaccurate.
“I’m definitely not,” she says of holding the reigns to her father’s campaign. “His campaign is his campaign. We have worked together for over a decade, and I love my father, I respect my father. I also understand him and how he thinks.”
She adds, “My siblings and I volunteer our opinions, solicited or not, and I think most children do that with their parents.”
Further,Ivanka Trumpisn’t all that interested in a political career, she tells the magazine.
“I made the mistake of once saying, ‘Never say never,’ ” she shares. “I do believe that in life there are so many things I’m doing today that I never thought I’d be doing, so I generally take that perspective. But I said that, and the headline was ‘IVANKA MIGHT RUN FOR OFFICE,’ so… But, no, it’s not something I think I would ever do.”
She’s definitely got her hands full, with her own brands, Trump Organization career and Arabella Rose, 5, Joseph Frederick, 2, and Theodore James, 3 months.

Of her husband Jared Kushner‘s relationship with her father, Trump tellsHarper’s, “From the first time Jared and my father met, they liked each other.”
“They initially bonded over me, and then they bonded over real estate,” she says.
“I still consider her a very close friend, and she considers me as well,” she reveals. “We have a great relationship. I’m not running for public office, and neither is she, so of course we’re still friends.”
