Katie Maloney-SchwartzandKristen Doutehave something rather unusual in common.
During Monday’s after-show ofVanderpump Rules, Maloney revealed that before she marriedTom Schwartz, she had a one-night stand with Brian Carter — aka her costar Kristen Doute’s current boyfriend.
“[It was] 2008, I was at a club with some friends — it was a birthday — and I met Carter… and then I slept with him,” Maloney, 32, admitted toLisa Vanderpumpand a gigglingBrittany Cartwright, who had already known about the one-time hookup.
In response to theshocking revelation, Vanderpump was clearly taken aback and asked, “You slept with Carter!? Since you’ve been married?”
But the reality star quickly shut that idea down. “No! This was a billion years ago. This was like, two years before I met Tom,” she explained. “There was a lot of stuff in between this. I had a great single life!”

Defending her friend, Cartwright, 30, added, “Everybody has their old h— days back in [the day]!”
“Carter was literally like, one of my only one night stands,” Maloney said.
The hookup made Doute, 36, think twice about dating Carter, whom she met on Bumble. Though hesitant at first, it was actuallyStassi Schroederwho pushed Doute to give Carter a chance.
“I’m like, ‘Great, girl code. What do I do?’ and Stassi’s like, ‘She’s engaged, she banged him one time!'” Doute shared later on the after-show, adding that the first time the pair hung out with Maloney she was very “dismissive” of her new beau.

Once she began dating Schwartz, Maloney went on to explain that she crossed paths again with Carter, 34, at one of their favorite go-to spots, where he had begun working as a server.
“We’re at Hudson where we used to go at the time and Carter started working there as a server and Stassi said, ‘Oh my god, that guy’s really hot,’ and I was like… ‘I totally had sex with that guy, oh my god,'” Maloney said.
“Tom introduced me to him and I’m like, ‘I think we met before,'” she recalled, adding that later on, she told Schwartz, “I don’t know how good of friends you are with this guy, but I slept with him and that was it, and I don’t remember.”

Maloney and Schwartztied the knotin August 2016 at the Twenty Mile House, a rustic wedding venue about eight hours north of Los Angeles, while Vanderpump, 58,officiated the ceremony.
“It was afairytale wedding,” Maloney previously told PEOPLE.
“It was without a doubt the happiest day of my life,” added Schwartz. “This coming from a guy who’s pretty cynical about the institution of marriage. It feels cool just to say ‘my wife.'”

Despite cheating allegations that came to light last season onVanderpump Rules, Schwartz recently told PEOPLE that the pair weredoing very well, especially after marking theirtwo-year wedding anniversary in August.
Meanwhile, Carter and Doute have been dating since 2015.
