A Kentucky mother sweetly insisted on throwing her child a traditionalsex reveal partyafter hecame out as transgender— even though he was already an adult!
Two months after Adrian Brown, 20, told his mother, Heather Lundberg Green, and brother that he was transgender, Lundberg Green figured out the perfect way to celebrate the happy news, according toNBC News.
In honor of Brown’s birthday, his mother planned an elaborate photo shoot, which quickly went viral aftershe shared the images on her Facebook pageon Jan. 29.
In another sweet series of photos, Brown pops a pair of pink balloons, revealing a shower of blue confetti.
“When your child comes out as trans, the best thing to do is create a photoshoot to celebrate the fact that he silently and bravely stepped out of the race that he never wanted to be in, found his own lane and proceeded to win,” the mother of two wrote alongside the photographs.

“HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY, Adrian! You are without a doubt the most fascinating human I know and I will always be your biggest fan! I love you, I honor who you are and I respect your courage to be unapologetically you!! Lets celebrate!!” she added.

Speaking about coming out to his family last September, Brown told NBC News that it “was really scary.”
“The hardest part was coming out to myself, accepting myself and loving myself for who I am,” he added.
Brown’s mother went on to tell NBC News that she never had a sex reveal for either of her children when she was expecting, but that it seemed fitting now given the popularity of the bashes.
However, Brown initially thought the idea was a little out there, telling his mother, “Isn’t it a little late?”

Elaborating on her decision, Lundberg Green told local NBC News affiliate WAVE 3 that there’s “no rule bookfor what a mom is supposed to do when their child comes to them and says, ‘This is my truth.’ ”
“And as much as I was wanting to support him, I was also wanting him to know that it wasn’t just acceptance, or that I was going to put up with him — I was going to celebrate it,” she added.
As for sharing the images online, Lundberg Green told the outlet she always posts public tribute posts to her children for their birthdays.

Speaking about the change she’s seen in her son since he came out, Lundberg Green told NBC News that “he holds his head high now.”
“My son is happy and healthy and that’s what matters,” she added.
