Stephen Colbertis adopting the “show must go on” approach for his own namesake series this week.

The official social media accounts forThe Late Show with Stephen Colbertannounced on Monday that the host has tested positive for COVID-19. And despite that diagnosis, Colbert will continue to host his CBS late-night show remotely from the comfort of his home.

“MEANWHILE…The Late Showwill look a little bit different tonight because Stephen is At Home with Covid (he’s ok!),” the post read onInstagramandX (formerly Twitter). “But be sure to tune in as the show will go on remotely with Monologue, Meanwhile,Jada Pinkett Smith, and Ricky Velez. #whatyearisit?

At the time, the show did not share how long it would continue virtually as Colbert, 59, recovers. However,Rachel Maddow,Talking HeadsandJon Batisteare among the lineup of guests to appear onThe Late Showlater this week.

The show posted an update from Colbert on Wednesday stating that he’d be out for the remainder of the week.

“Sorry to say, per doctor’s orders, I’m going to be out for the rest of the week,” thesocial media messageread. “Resting up so that I can deliver the hand crafted, artisanal talk show that we so enjoy serving you.”

The note accompanied a photo of socks and onions that Colbert joked came from fellow late-night hostJimmy Fallon. “In the meantime, a heady blend of Paxlovid and onions in my socks (thank you, Fallon) will be rebuilding my immune system,” Colbert continued.

“Yep! I tested positive for Covid, but basically I’m feeling fine- grateful to be vaxxed and boosted,” he previouslysharedon social media. “Thank you for the well wishes. This just proves that I will do anything to avoid interviewingJason Bateman.”

Colberthad another COVID scarethe following month, with his show’s official X account indicating that he was “experiencing symptoms consistent with a recurrence of COVID.”

“Out of an abundance of caution for his staff, guests, and audience, he will be isolating for a few additional days,” the post concluded.
