Some fans have questions after zooming in onKate MiddletonandPrince William’s new Christmas card.

“Why is your son missing a finger? And whose legs are those?” one commenter wrote onX, drawing attention to Prince Louis’ left hand that rested on Princess Charlotte’s chair and where his leg should be.

“You people are crazy, his fingers are split 🖖🏼 like this in the photo,” anInstagramcommenter offered as an explanation.

Aside from the closer look at Prince Louis, anotherXuser asked, “Where’s William’s thigh? Where’s Kate’s other foot?” pointing to the way the Prince and Princess of Wales stood.

Another Instagram user questioned if anyone else saw “the illusion of a crown” in the way the light hit Prince George’s hair. After all, the young prince is second in the line of succession to the British throne behind his father!

Summing up the surprise around the Wales family’s Christmas card portrait, which marked a departure from the colorful outdoor snaps released in recent years, another Instagrammer joked, “It’s giving JC Penny! They’re just like us!!!!”

That might bejust the messagePrince William and Kate intended to send, as they strive to create a childhood experience that’s as normal as possible for their three children.

“Those children look pretty happy with life,” apalace insider told PEOPLEearlier this year. “A lot of it is the stabilizing normality Kate brings — and that’s how she grew up. William absolutely loves it.”

“Coming from a different background, she appreciates the importance of having family time,” said a source close to the royal household. “She wasn’t brought up in that aristocratic setting where you see the children for a short time each day.”

That sense of normalcy was evident to Shinner, who snapped the photo in Windsor earlier this year.

“It was such a pleasure to photograph The Prince and Princess of Wales and their family for the Christmas portrait this year,” the photographer captioned the picture on hisInstagrampage.

“Without doubt one of the most relaxed and enjoyable sittings I’ve ever had, and I now have a whole new set of jokes that are right on my level thanks to the children…,” he continued, referring to George, Charlotte and Louis. “A huge thanks to the@princeandprincessofwalesfor having me.”

When a commenter asked about the children’sfunniest joke, Shinner kept it professional. “Keeping those to myself I’m afraid!” he politely replied.

Prince William and Princess Kate released their annual Christmas card the day after the Princess of Wales’ third annualTogether At Christmasconcert at Westminster Abbey, which they attended as a family of five for the first time as Louismade his debut. The little prince appeared to be on his best behavior at the big event, though hischeeky sideshined through when he blew out Charlotte’s candle!
